The Bio-Images Group, a successful Scottish pharmaceutical development company, has taken a significant step in increasing its international reach by showcasing its outstanding capabilities at one of the world’s most prestigious biotech and life science conferences in Australia.

The Group, which encompasses Bio-Images Research and sister company Drug Delivery International (DDi), will be exhibiting through Scottish Development International at AusBiotech 2011 in Adelaide, South Australia from October 16 to 19. Bio-Images will be showcased alongside other selected Scottish SMEs in the SDI delegation.

Dr Vicki Ronaldson, marketing manager for Bio-Images Group, said: “The Asia-Pacific region is the focus of intense activity in pharmaceuticals at the moment. Bio-Images has already recognised the potential of the region, with plans in motion to set up a wholly owned commercial presence in Singapore. As such, we are looking to increase outbound marketing activities in this part of the world, and the SDI initiative is an excellent way to do this.”

The Bio-Images Group will also be exploring further international expansion opportunities at the annual meeting of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists in Washington DC later this month. Staff from Bio-Images Research and DDi will be present at the event from October 23 to 27 to meet with clients during the exhibition, as well as presenting recent research at the scientific sessions.

The Bio-Images Group combines a specialist drug formulation service with a clinical research site for conducting early phase studies in man, to provide an integrated approach to pharmaceutical development.
